Marvel Snap fans will love some of the Iconic Rares in Cyberpunk TCG

As a Marvel Snap fanatic and a card collector, Cyberpunk TCG's Iconic Rares have won me over thanks to a strange connection.

If any mobile game has taken a huge chunk out of my time in the last four years, it's Marvel Snap. I don't have an accurate amount of time played, but it's around the 4,000-hour mark. After falling off it late last year, I've recently been playing it again, learning new decks and enjoying an incursion-level amount of cards. As I started to write about the Cyberpunk TCG for Kanto Post, I realised something—some of these Iconic Rares look oddly familiar.

Let me explain for the Cyberpunk TCG collectors who are unsure why I'm mentioning Marvel Snap at all. In this mobile CCG, you play a variety of matches with decks made up of the most iconic superheroes and villains (and lesser-known ones, too). As a free-to-play game, most of the value comes from either boosting your collection faster or buying variants of your cards.

There are a lot of variants, with many characters having a couple each at least. There are 738 Marvel Snap cards at the time of writing, with at least one added every week, so the pool continues to grow. The variants are simply unnecessary ways to customise your decks, but any Snapper will tell you they have a favourite artist. One of mine is Pandart Studio.

The Hope Summers variant, in particular, is a favourite of mine, alongside Pandart's Cassandra Nova. As a studio, their art style varies, but many of their best pieces have an electric, very animated look that works well for action artwork. Considering the non-stop thrills of Cyberpunk, that style would gel well with Pandart's best work. Hint hint.

As I was looking through the cards, and taking a peek at the highest of the Cyberpunk TCG rarities, the style stood out to me as familiar. After a bit of research, I found out that Pandart Studio did some of the Iconic Rares for the Welcome to Night City expansion, with my favourite being V - Streetkid, which has the same mid-action adrenaline as the Hope Summers card.

It's a weird connection that has only made me want the Cyberpunk TCG Welcome to Night City chase cards even more than before. As someone who loved Cyberpunk 2077 - even during the launch period, just so you know I'm a real fan - I can't help but love this neat, niche link between the upcoming trading card game and my favourite mobile game, even if most won't notice it. That's just my little obsession to have.

If you're a fan of both Marvel Snap and Cyberpunk, you can find out where to buy a Cyberpunk TCG Welcome to Night City booster box. Alternatively, subscribe to my newsletter above for the latest news.
