The Palworld TCG has a well-kept secret rarity called SSS or Super Secret Special. The first all-gold Cattiva card in this rarity tier is now selling for around $1,000, after initial sales for almost $4,000. Prices have now settled around the $700-$900 range, as well as figures around £700-900 in the UK.
Palworld TCG’s Dawn of Palpagos expansion is finally available, marking a huge milestone for the survival hit-turned-card game. The initial set has been extremely popular – I haven’t managed to find any stock in the UK – and even though I was prepared to find the chase cards I knew about, a secret one was revealed on launch day. And it’s selling for a lot of money on eBay.
For its initial outing, I was pleasantly surprised by the Palworld TCG – at least, from my virtual perspective. The Dawn of Palpagos chase card list I wrote before launch was packed with bangers to collect, and the overall consensus seems fairly positive across the community. As a first expansion, the opening Palworld TCG set is great, but even with detailed pre-release information, one secret was kept remarkably well.
Before launch, the Palworld TCG rarities went from Common to SSP, or Super Special Parallel. SSPs are the premium, textured cards that are Palworld’s most elusive, known chase cards – the rare pulls that anyone and everyone collecting these cards will want. However, it seems we were tricked; it's now been revealed that an even more elusive card exists: an SSS, in all its all-gold glory. I’m only a little mad that I had to update my articles. No big deal.
Some collectors have found the card – an all-gold Cattiva called ‘Soul’ – in god packs. These are packs with a full selection of good pulls, and right now, the SSS card is selling for a decent chunk of change online.
Several copies have sold for around the $1,000 mark, while the earliest sales reached considerably higher. One even sold for almost $4,000, while another reached around $3,000. However, it seems to have settled somewhat since those initial sales. In the UK, prices are similar, although without the massively high figures seen on the US version of eBay. Many copies have sold in the £700-900 range, after an initial sale for £1,069.99.
While the Pokémon TCG had a gradual build-up of high-value sales as the hype wave started again in late 2024, the Palworld TCG seems to be benefiting from the current fever pitch around trading cards, seeing huge sales almost immediately. This is just a day after the Jormuntide Ignis SSP cards were selling for upwards of £1,000, too.
I don’t imagine the SSS Cattiva will remain consistently high unless stock scarcity continues. Getting booster boxes has actually been quite difficult, at least in the UK, and that lack of supply is likely playing a role in these early prices. Once more product makes its way into collectors’ hands, I’d expect the market to settle.
I hope that, as Bushiroad fine-tunes the packs over years of sets, the Palworld Official Card Game becomes stronger than ever, with beautiful cards and a fairly generous pull rate. However, if you don’t want to wait for more stock and just have to own this secret all-gold Cattiva right now, well, it might cost you a small fortune.
