Welcome to the first official newsletter for Kanto Post. Instead of regular news sent to your inbox, I’ll be sending out roundups of the latest information. And, well, what a huge day to do it on. Let’s start with the Pokémon TCG, shall we?

Pokémon TCG

Today—if I’m doing this right—is the day that Pokémon Delta Reign has been released. If you’ve been fortunate enough to get some stock, you may find my chase cards list below useful. Fingers crossed and praying to Arceus that you get the pulls you deserve!

The 6 Pokémon Delta Reign chase cards that you need to get
Our favourite green Dragon-type is returning, and here are the best Pokémon Delta Reign chase cards to celebrate.

However, you may find that a certain Ultra Rare version of Mega Rayquaza ex is missing. No, that’s not bad luck. Instead, it’s actually coming to a product next year as a promo. More details below!

Pokémon Delta Reign’s missing Rayquaza card will be coming three months later
Pokémon Delta Reign is missing an Ultra Rare Mega Rayquaza ex, and it’ll be a promo for a box coming next year.

Outside of Delta Reign, a financial expert has warned (see: good news for us) that Pokémon cards may drop in value by 80% if the market downturns. Let me hope, because I want that Giratina V card from Lost Origin, and I’d prefer to keep my kidney.

Pokémon cards could lose 80% of their value, warns financial expert
In a recent interview with UltraBall, financial expert Douglas Boneparth warns that scalpers and celebrity involvement could contribute to huge market downturns for Pokémon card collectors.

Finally, The Pokemon Company in Japan shared that the price of booster packs is going to increase from May 2027, with individual packs going from 200 yen to 230 yen. This is the second consecutive year to see an increase, meaning that prices have gone up around 28% in two years.

Japanese Pokémon TCG packs are getting another price increase in 2027
After receiving a price increase earlier this year, Pokémon booster packs in Japan are going up by 15% in May 2027.

Cyberpunk TCG

On the same day as Delta Reign, Cyberpunk TCG’s first set is dropping, with Welcome to Night City welcoming us to, well, Night City. You can check out the chase cards below.

The 10 biggest Cyberpunk TCG Welcome to Night City chase cards
The city of dreams is full of some of my biggest dreams for collecting Cyberpunk TCG Welcome to Night City chase cards when the set releases.

There’s also the fact that the next expansion, Edgerunners: Burn Bright, has also been announced with a release date of April 2027. While cards have yet to be revealed, some art for a new Adam Smasher has been shared, and it’s… smashing, dare I say?

This upcoming Adam Smasher card for Cyberpunk TCG’s Edgerunners set is brutal brilliance
Adam Smasher is one of Cyberpunk’s top villains, and the Edgerunners: Burn Bright set is delivering an excellent chase for the Cyberpunk TCG.

Palworld TCG

Last week, Legends Awaken for Palworld was released. You can find the chase cards below, including my favourite Palworld card so far. And no, it’s not the all-gold card, I can promise you.

The 6 biggest Palworld Legends Awaken chase cards
Palpagos’ greatest are here, and the Palworld Legends Awaken set gives us plenty of chase cards to hope we pull.

Here, I’ll share other Pokémon and TCG-related stories I’ve spotted that I want to share with you!

Giratina V Pokemon card from Pokemon Lost Origin

Pokémon card of the week

To kick off our first Pokémon card of the week segment, is there any better choice than Giratina V from Lost Origin? My favourite modern Pokémon card, and my favourite Pokémon, this stunning artwork by Shinji Kanda is a dark, brooding beauty, wrapped in a chase that—to this day—I sadly don’t own.

Kanto Korner (mini-edition)

This is the section where I go into the plans, what’s happened with Kanto Post, and, well, what’s going to happen.

Firstly, Kanto Korner is usually a quarterly thing. However, it’s exclusive to the newly updated Kanto Post subscriber tiers. If you’re hoping to support the website, you can get a variety of benefits for keeping the servers running. And to celebrate, we have 30% off the Mythical tier for a year using this link. Thank you!

Speaking of which, I’m adding some cool features—both free and premium—for Kanto Post. No spoilers just yet. Okay, well, you’ve twisted my arm, so just one: card lists. That’s all I’m going to say.

👑
Special Thanks: Henry Stockdale

In the future, Kanto Korner will be limited to Mythical or higher subscribers, so make sure to support the website to get loads of cool benefits and get the latest news on what Kanto Post is up to.
