As the trading card game market continues to become volatile, it’s no surprise that the Palworld TCG has become a casualty. The survival hit-turned-card game has sold out at most retailers, and boosters packs that eventually land on shelves are quickly bought. Bushiroad, publisher of the Palworld Official Card Game, has released a statement that more stock is coming, and it is planning a second edition version.
As someone who loves Pocketpair’s game, and as someone obsessed with collecting cards, the Palworld TCG is perfect for me. Sadly, I haven’t been able to get any. I’ve written extensively about the Palworld Dawn of Palpagos chase cards, yet I don’t have any. In fact, I even yearn for commons at this point.
Much like the Pokémon TCG, Palworld’s debut expansion has been on the receiving end of massive market price spikes, with the community’s suggestions of scalpers and those keeping them sealed taking all of the stock. As someone who simply wants to rip packs, seeing the Cattiva SSS and the Jormuntide SSP prices makes me sad. Not because I don’t have them - although, that is true - but because I know that people are seeing the value over the excitement of collecting.
[An Update Regarding "Dawn of Palpagos" Availability]
— Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME (@PalworldOCG_EN) August 19, 2026
We would like to sincerely apologize for the current stock shortages and difficulty in acquiring "Dawn of Palpagos" products following our release.
We are pleased to share that additional stock is already on the way, and we…
Fortunately, publisher Bushiroad has taken notice. Alongside ripping shrinkwrap at the point of sale, the company has released a statement apologising for stock shortages and the difficulty of buying products, noting that more Dawn of Palpagos stock is incoming - as well as a 2nd Edition printing.
This is a good sign, and perhaps Bushiroad didn’t realise how well the initial Palworld set will sell. However, it does make me nervous about future expansions. Two more sets are planned, and with only three months between them, that’s a lot of pressure to fulfill demand, which remains seemingly unprecedented.
That being said, this gives me a lot of hope that eventually, I’ll be able to buy some packs. At this point, I’m not looking to collect the highest Palworld rarities - I just want to add some to my various binders.
Currently, the company has provided no timeline of when the new stock or the second edition will arrive, but it states that it will “provide further details in the near future”.
