I don’t know if you can name a more iconic duo than Japan and beautiful Pokémon TCG accessories. It seems that the Japanese Pokémon Center gets some of the most interesting products, and this new deck collection only highlights that further, bringing a triple threat of Mega Gengar, Mega Feraligatr, and Mega Dragonite decks in one collection. And with a gorgeous playmat to boot.

I only released a news piece on Chinese Pokémon TCG collectors getting an exclusive Misty’s Psyduck card that looks gorgeous the other day. Now, it seems Japan is ready to add adorable insult to injury with a new box that was announced on 16 October 2026 on the Japanese Pokémon website.

Releasing on Friday, 13 November, the special collection gets you (and your friends, if you’re willing to share) three decks to enjoy, giving you a ready-to-play way to get started in the Pokémon TCG. There are no promos here, but there’s at least something cute, making this a good way to store your Pokémon cards between matches.

It also offers three guides to help a newcomer (or returning player) get the gist of all the decks included. However, as a collector first and foremost, I really love the box art and the matching playmat, which has all three of the featured Mega Pokémon together in a vibrant explosion of colour.

What makes this even more intriguing is how useful it is. As someone who doesn’t play the Pokémon TCG, nor do I understand how to start battling, this is a great way for new players to learn. The accessories are just the icing on the Alcremie.
