Community Days in Pokémon GO are regular events delivering packed rewards and plenty of bonuses to help you level up your new friends. While the name is a little bit of a lie, these are limited to just a few hours, so you need to be prepared for the day when it comes.

When is the next Pokémon GO Community Day?

The next Pokémon GO Community Day is on Saturday, 20th June 2026, starting at 2 pm local time and concluding at 5 pm. It will feature Frigibax, the Dragon/Ice-type Pokémon, which evolves into Arctibax and then Baxcalibur.

Frigibax first appeared in Generation 9, living in the Paldea region from 2022’s Scarlet & Violet games. During the Community Day, Frigibax will become more frequent in the wild, giving you plenty of opportunities to capture the Pokémon and farm Candies to evolve or power up your high IV ones.

What are the Pokémon GO Community Day bonuses?

There are plenty of reasons to join in on the Community Day festivities, even if you already have the evolution line of Frigibax in your Pokédex. The list of rewards includes:

  • Glaive Rush attack - any Arctibax evolved during the event or up to four hours later will have this charged move as a Baxcalibur
  • Triple Stardust when catching Pokémon
  • Double Catch Candy
  • Double chance for Trainers at Level 31 or over to get XL Candies
  • Lure Modules used between 2 pm and 9 pm will last an hour
  • Increased Frigibax spawn rates at active Lure Modules, with an increased chance of getting a shiny
  • Incense used between 2 pm and 5 pm will last three hours (excluding Daily Adventure Incense)
  • Trades require 50% less Stardust between 2 pm and 9 pm
  • Event-exclusive Field Research tasks with plenty of rewards to get

For those willing to buy a ticket to the exclusive Special Research during the event, you’ll also get three encounters with Frigibax with a special background, as well as a Rare Candy XL, the Premium Battle Pass, and more encounters with the featured Pokémon.

How to prepare for Pokémon Go Community Day

If you’re planning to attend the next Pokémon Go Community Day, here are some handy tips to get the most out of the event:

Use Lure Modules and Incense

While the event is on, Frigibax spawns will be far more common, but with a well-placed Lure Module and the extended Incense time, these items will make it far easier to catch them more often. The more you have, the easier it will be to get some high IV for your team, and you can use any extra Candies to upgrade your best Frigibax.

Remove unwanted Pokémon

If you’re anything like me, chances are you’re almost always right near the Pokémon cap. Make sure you transfer as many unnecessary ones as you can so the catching spree can continue - I personally filter all of them by searching 0* or 1* to remove low IV ones that won’t be good for battling. Of course, don’t transfer those event ones (although the game warns you if there are any in your selection).

Get some Lucky Eggs

Considering the sheer number of Pokémon you’ll be catching, getting a few Lucky Eggs for the event is a great idea. That means you’ll get additional XP for every catch you make, making it far easier to level up during the event.

Clear your Field Research tasks

During the event, you can get special Field Research tasks tied to the Community Day. It’s worth completing your existing ones or deleting them to make room for the event tasks - that will save you wasting time while the event is active.

Pokémon GO Community Day FAQs

Can Frigibax be shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes, there is a shiny form of Frigibax, and it’ll be easier to find during the Community Day due to an increased spawn rate for the Pokémon. Admittedly, it’s one of the weaker shinies in the mobile game, with a paler body that’s a lighter blue with pink accents.

How long does Pokémon GO Community Day last?

The event lasts three hours, taking place between 2 pm and 5 pm in your local time. However, some event bonuses will last until 9 pm on the same day, giving you an additional four hours of extra rewards.
