Where to buy Pokémon Ascended Heroes packs as stock shortages continue
Pokémon Ascended Heroes remains one of the most sought-after modern expansions, but if you’re lucky, here’s where to find some.
I’ve been covering the Pokémon TCG since before the hype reignited in late 2024, and I’m still surprised when an expansion takes off - even prior to launch. As one of the biggest sets in the franchise’s history, Pokémon Ascended Heroes is a beautiful trip through some of the most iconic creatures the series has offered, and unsurprisingly, it’s very popular with fans. If you’re hoping to get your hands on some packs - well, good luck. But I’ll certainly try to help.
A little context - before being made redundant at Wargamer’s parent company, I helped plenty of readers like you get as much Pokémon TCG stock as possible. Of course, there’s no certainty, as stock seems to fly off the shelves as soon as it lands, but I’ll be giving you the best chance at securing some packs of Ascended Heroes.
Where to buy Pokémon Ascended Heroes online?
The best retailers to bookmark and regularly check for Pokémon Ascended Heroes stock are:
UK:
- Magic Madhouse (UK) - one of the biggest TCG retailers in the UK, and therefore, one that gets plenty of stock
- Chaos Cards (UK) - offers an invite system, making it easier to buy stock
- Amazon (UK) - similar to Chaos Cards, Amazon UK has an invite system - of course, this is more popular, so chances are slimmer. I’ve only ever had two invites from Amazon
US:
- Walmart (US) - I’ve regularly seen stock of Pokémon appear on Walmart, but it’s also good to watch for any resellers trying to make a quick buck - if you want to pay extra
- Best Buy (US) - has a mix of ‘resellers’ as well as the occasional invite-only system, so worth checking frequently
- Amazon (US) - unlike Amazon UK, Amazon US doesn’t seem to have an invite system from personal experience, and products are frequently returned - use this as a last resort
Social media stock alerts can be useful, but relying on them alone often means you're arriving after hundreds or thousands of other collectors. Combining stock alerts with regular retailer checks gives you a much better chance of finding products before they sell out. I’d recommend bookmarking the pages above and frequently checking alongside social media pings. That way, you get the best of both worlds.
It’s also worth getting friendly with your local card shop. Many small, family-run card shops get some stock in, and it’s worth becoming a familiar face in the hope they hold some to the side for you. My local has got so used to me buying stuff, they mention frequently when they may bring some stock in.
Why is Pokémon Ascended Heroes so hard to find?
Pokémon Ascended Heroes is one of the biggest sets ever, and it is filled with chase cards that collectors like you and I are desperate to get - Mega Gengar ex, two Pikachu SIRs, and Mega Dragonite ex SIR, just to name a few. That hype drives up prices, meaning more people are trying to get it, and the cycle of stock being bought up and sold for high amounts continues.
Demand is also being fuelled by investors and resellers who view sealed Pokémon products as collectibles in their own right, increasing competition for stock at launch.
In reality, the expansion has only launched earlier this year, so stock will keep popping up for the next 24 months, and potentially more. Historically, Pokémon TCG expansions receive reprints across a period of one to two years, so there's a reasonable chance additional Ascended Heroes stock will appear well beyond its initial launch window.
